Dr. Alexia Tsakiris

Advanced Botanical Medicine & Integrative Therapeutics

Dr. Tsakiris has dedicated much of her professional career to the advanced study and clinical application of herbal medicine and integrative therapeutics.

She holds a Graduate Diploma of Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine (GDipVWHM) and a Certificate of Veterinary Herbal Medicine from the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT). She also completed David Winston's Clinical Herbalist Program and holds the Registered Herbalist (RH) credential through the American Herbalists Guild.

In 2018, she joined CIVT as an adjunct professor, contributing to the education of veterinary professionals pursuing integrative medicine.

In 2023, she was accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Veterinary Botanical Medicine.

Her additional qualifications include certification in veterinary acupuncture from Chi University in 2009 and veterinary food therapy in 2019.

Her extensive botanical education, combined with conventional veterinary training, provides a valuable foundation for evaluating herbal ingredients, therapeutic combinations, nutraceutical formulations, and their potential applications in animal health.

Rather than viewing ingredients in isolation, she considers the intended clinical application, scientific rationale, safety, formulation strategy, and practical use of the finished product.

Clinical Experience Meets Product Innovation

Throughout her career, Dr. Tsakiris has worked directly with veterinary patients, pet owners, and veterinary teams, gaining insight into what makes a product clinically useful, practical, and worthy of consideration.

She has also presented professionally on herbal medicine at conferences in the United States and acupuncture at conferences in Greece.

Her background as a clinician, educator, and business owner enables her to communicate effectively with veterinarians and pet owners while helping companies understand the clinical and commercial factors that influence product acceptance.
